Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay relocates and renovates new space for the Carey Family Club in Brandon

TAMPA – (March 29, 2019) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay opened the doors to a newly remodeled Club serving the youth and their families in Brandon.  Formerly known as the Bill Carey Brandon Boys & Girls Club, the newly named Carey Family Brandon Boys & Girls Club is now located in beautiful Sadie Park at 510 E Sadie Street Brandon, FL.

Under the leadership of Sheriff David Gee, at it’s original location on Knights Ave, the Club was the first Club bringing law enforcement into the conversation around community impact.  Today, this Club at it’s new location and under the strong partnership with Sheriff Chronister, this is one of eight Clubs operating under a community collaboration model. Hillsborough Parks & Recreation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and the Hillsborough County Sherriff Office joined forces to bring the vision of a stronger community to reality. This Project Lead center will operate in collaboration with Hillsborough County Sheriff Office offering daily presence of a law enforcement mentor.

The Club is located between Yates Elementary and Mann Middle School will serve youth ages 5-18. The Club  has capacity to serve 125 youth. President and CEO Chris Letsos said “We are pleased to continue to serve the families in Brandon with quality out of school support” Letsos added “This Club will allow us to serve more families with a focus on academic progression and character and leadership.”

The Club is now open and serving youth afterschool and during the summer. The Club will host plenty of outdoor space including beach volleyball courts and all that Sadie Park has to offer.
