Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay celebrates Corporal Jessica Ziegler as National Maytag Dependability Award Winner

DADE CITY, FL – (May 10, 2019) Since 2010, Maytag has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs to identify dependable leaders in our communities, leaders who are focused on helping youth become our next generation of dependable leaders. This year, a new class of Dependable Leaders was announced at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Conference in Houston Texas (May 1-3, 2019). Corporal Jessica Ziegler with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and a long time, dedicated volunteer at the Lacoochee Boys & Girls Club in Dade City, Florida was announced as a National winner. In honor of Corporal Ziegler, the Club was awarded $20,000 to create impactful opportunities building good character and citizenship. Proceeds from this award will be used to further introduce and expand the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program with the Club and throughout East Pasco. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said, “Corporal. Ziegler has dedicated so much of herself to the children in the Lacoochee community and at the Boys & Girls Club. She has made this true statement, that the biggest impact she can make through this organization is helping the kids of this community. We are extremely proud of her efforts and the difference she continues to make.”

In a home town celebration, the youth, staff and community of Lacoochee (Dade City) celebrated Corporal Ziegler with a BBQ dinner, video presentation and lots of bear hugs. CEO and President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay said, “We are incredibly grateful to have the support of the Pasco County Sheriff Office. For our youth to have mentors who wear a badge is life changing and Corporal Ziegler is the epitome of dependable. Her consistent and constant mentoring of youth in our Clubs will have a profound impact for generations to come.”
